I’ve been involved in the trucking and transportation industry for 28+ years working as both an enforcement official and privately as a DOT consultant conducting mock audits, HM shippers audits and delivering DOT training. In addition to that stuff, I’ve specialized in the hazardous materials regulations (HMR) as well as work with IATA and IMDG dangerous goods regs.

I’ve provided subject matter expertise to a variety of company sizes from large enterprise level transportation, shipping companies all the way down to small ‘mom and pop’ owner operator trucking companies. It doesn’t matter the size of the company; everyone messes up DQ files and if they deal with hazmat, don’t get the basics. One way or another they wind up out of compliance and run the risk of fines. In case you haven’t heard, DOT fines really suck.

I created this website after seeing a lot of the same mistakes being made over and over again by shippers, companies and drivers. My goal for this website is to help people that have to use DOT safety regulations understand them as best they can.

In my spare time I’m an avid motorcyclist and love taking trips whenever I can get away. Teach a man to fish and he’ll eat for a day – Give a man a motorcycle and he’ll eat fish and chips 200 miles away!
